How to clean Beach Chairs
Beach chairs are essential for a relaxing day by the ocean, but after a fun-filled beach day, they can often become sandy, salty, and dirty. Regular cleaning not only prolongs the life of your beach chairs but also ensures a hygienic and comfortable experience. Here's the ultimate guide on how to clean your beach chairs and keep them in tip-top condition.
- Gather Your Supplies:
Before you start cleaning, gather the necessary supplies:
- Mild detergent
- Warm water
- Soft-bristle brush or sponge
- Hose or bucket of water
- Towels for drying
- Optional: bleach (for white plastic chairs)
- Remove Loose Debris:
Take your beach chairs to a suitable cleaning area, preferably outdoors, and shake them to remove loose sand and debris. For fabric or canvas chairs, use a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner to eliminate as much sand as possible.
- Basic Cleaning for Plastic or Metal Chairs:
For plastic or metal beach chairs, mix a small amount of mild detergent with warm water. Dip a soft-bristle brush or sponge into the soapy water and scrub the chair's surface, paying extra attention to any stains or spots. Rinse thoroughly with a hose or a bucket of clean water.
- Deep Cleaning for Fabric or Canvas Chairs:
If you have fabric or canvas beach chairs, follow these steps:
- Mix mild detergent with warm water to create a soapy solution.
- Dip the brush or sponge into the soapy water and gently scrub the fabric.
- For stubborn stains, use a soft-bristle brush or a cloth to avoid damaging the fabric.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove all soap residue.
- Cleaning Mould and Mildew:
If you notice mould or mildew on your beach chairs, create a solution of one part bleach and three parts water (for white plastic chairs). For fabric or canvas chairs, use a mixture of vinegar and water (one part vinegar to two parts water). Scrub the affected areas, rinse, and allow the chairs to dry in the sun to prevent future growth.
- Drying and Storage:
After cleaning your beach chairs, allow them to air dry completely. Ensure there's no moisture left to prevent mould growth. Once dry, fold or stack your chairs and store them in a cool, dry place to protect them from the elements.
Regular cleaning and maintenance will help extend the life of your beach chairs and ensure they're always ready for your next beach adventure. So, keep your beach chairs clean, comfy, and ready for many more sunny days by the shore.
